INTRODUCTION

Daisy paints in oil and uses the Sight Size method where the artist steps back from the subject which is depicted to scale and in proportion to life. The canvas and the sitter are placed together side by side under natural light, which enables a depth of characterisation, form, and atmosphere.

The subject would be required to attend a series of sittings of three hours at a time (with breaks included). The number of sittings is dependent on the size and complexity of the painting, however, for a head and shoulders portrait, Daisy requires four to five sittings.

Daisy’s availability can vary, therefore, it is worth having plenty of time to schedule in sittings when considering a commission. As a guide, Daisy recommends getting in contact a year in advance.

TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT

Here is an overview of portrait sizes:

Head & shoulders
Waist Up

Please note the prices do not include framing. If you would like us to organise framing, we have a wonderful framer in London that we work with and we can provide quotes for you to approve.
In order to proceed we require 50% deposit to be paid upfront, and the remaining balance is due on completion of the portrait. Please kindly note that a commission is not considered confirmed until the deposit payment has been received. You will then be contacted to arrange convenient sitting dates.

Daisy would love to meet you at her studio in London to discuss ideas for the portrait. When painting children, Daisy prefers to work from both photographs and life.
