Painted at the end of a beautiful day in North Norfolk, the colours in the sky were incredible and I wanted to catch the warm evening light on the boat house.
Painted on a balmy summers evening as we drove through the countryside I had to stop when I saw this typical English scene in contre-jour light. As we were packing away a tiny little frog hopped into Ales hand.
As I walked along the Giudecca I couldn't help but stop and set up my easel, the punchy orange green combination was really captivating and the light on the restaurant and shadows of the buildings on the water moved quickly so I had to work fast to capture it.
A stormy day in Venice is always exciting as a painter, the dramatic light dancing on the distant buildings and the moody colours of the sky and water in contrast.
A little painting of one of my favourite canals which has been painted by some of the greats of the past including Seago and Sargent. I love the fruit and Vegetable boat on this canal!
